We continued up I25 and stopped to eat at Hooter Brown restaurant good food and good service.

Larry decide he would try and make his nieces wedding so he would stay of I25 when we got off at Colorado Springs to head to Pikes Peek. (Larry split off and headed home.)

Joe and I got gas and headed to the Peek. Waiting till we seen the weather to decide if we went all the way up or not. Joe and I wet to the top, it was cold a a little muddy. It had snowed but wasn't snowing and the roads had been scraped. One place when I had to go around a snowplow

I got in to some soft mud, I just kick it and kept go, Joe kind of got the worst of it. As he was following me, basically all it did was cover both bike with mud.

The views were great, we stopped for our patches and sticker at the top and headed down. You had to be very careful as even the paved parts were totally covered with sand and it was hard to tell one for the other.
The trip over to and up and down pikes peek took us over 3 hours. After that we took 24 over to I70.
The wind on I70 was terrible I would guess at least 50 mph cross wind. It was very tiring and our gas mileage sucked. When you would pass a truck that blocked the wind the bike would accelerate about 20 mph then like hitting a wall at the front of the truck. We road in that till the sun went down. We rode till dark and made it to Salina KS we decide to stop as we were hungry and that would leave us an easy 600 mile ride home Sunday. Stayed in a Motel 6

End of 5th day 70088 miles ridden 741 with a 3 hour Pikes Peek ride.
