Bob Reinke

I am 41.  My wife Becky is  . .  ?  . .  around my age.  I have a

step-son Jason 27, step-daughter Melissa 24, son Kalab 13, son Riley

11, grandson Noah 0.

I grewww...u.., (O.K., I never grew up, ) , lived most of my life in

Deshler Nebraska. (south central area of Nebraska)

I lived in Denver Co. for about 1 year and in Geneva Ne. for 2 years.

I now live in Deshler.

My first hands on experiences with motorized vehicles were with a 1963

International Cub Cadet riding mower that I drove since I was 8 years

old and last drove about 3 days ago.  I also got a go-kart at about the

same time, which taught me a little about mechanics.  I taught myself

body and paint work during my high school years.

I attended parochial grade school and public high school.  Then

graduated from tech school with a degree in Auto Mechanics.  I have

also been a licensed real estate agent.  I have been a member of 4-H, a

Cub Scout, a Boy Scout and a Cub Master.  I am currently on the Deshler

Chamber of Commerce Board, the Deshler Zoning Board, the County

Economic Development Board, Public School Board, and President of the

local Radio Control Airplane Club.

I joined AACA  in 2002 after a lot of nagging from Myron Smith - which

I now thank him for.  I have since become a judge and a life member of

national and a life member of the Nebraska Region, of which I am

currently President.

My first car was a 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS.  I have several 65 and 66

full-size chevys now and have been a member of the 65-66 F.S.C.C since

1989.  I also have a 1929 Model A, 2- 1941 Chevys, 1949 Pontiac, 1962

Tempest, 1962 Dodge Motor Home, 1964 Volkswagon, 1965 Mustang, 1986

Fiero and several old tractors.

I enjoy AACA because is stands for preservation of history.  Hot Rods

are o.k. if they don't cut up something rare to build one, but you

can't learn much about the history of cars from them.  I think we need

to work harder on attracting youth.  In todays society (in most cases)

it is no longer the adults taking the kids to events, it is the kids

telling the parents to go to events.  The fast food industry knows this

and uses this tactic.  Maybe we need to make up a lot of tokens for

kids, fun for kids, make the kids who come, glad they did and the

parents that didn't bring there's, wish they had.  We may need to look

at what has been done to preserve historic real estate and see what we

can learn from it.  Consider also, approaching this as a marketing

department of a large company.  The membership of AACA could easily be

doubled.  Until about 6 years ago I didn't know what AACA was, and I

was INTO cars for over 20 years, at that time.  I imagine there are a

lot of others out there that don't know anything about AACA.  We will

need to work on press coverage and e-mail out press releases to get the

information out there in an economical manner.

I have attended 2 national meets and plan to be in Colorado this summer.
